All of us will reach menopause as early as 40 years of age. you will experience irregular menses and then the absence of menstruation, accompanied by fatigue, night sweats, hot flashes, sweating, pain during sexual intercourse, hair dryness or loss of scalp hair, anxiety, dry skin, irritability, moodiness, reduced sex drive and vaginal dryness.
Some of us will experience premature menopause which can occur before 40 years of age due to chemotherapy, radiation, and hysterectomy including removal of the ovaries. One of the most challenging aspects of menopause is our ovaries' premature failure caused by our body's immune system mistakenly attacking our ovaries. Fortunately, we now have the knowledge, medications, and therapy to manage menopause so that we can enjoy life at any age.
